American Airlines Flight From Boston to Rochester Diverted Due to Possible Odor in Cabin
Flight Landed Safely at Syracuse Airport
No Injuries Reported
An American Airlines flight from Boston to Rochester was diverted to the Syracuse airport on Wednesday evening due to a possible odor in the cabin.
The flight landed safely at Hancock International Airport at around 7:30 p.m., and no injuries were reported.
American Airlines spokesperson Casey Norton told CNY Central that the flight was diverted out of "an abundance of caution" after the crew reported a possible odor in the cabin.
Norton said that maintenance personnel are inspecting the aircraft to determine the source of the odor.
Passengers were taken off the plane and bused to the terminal, where they were provided with food and drinks.
Norton said that American Airlines is working to rebook passengers on other flights as soon as possible.
