David Gilmour Baby Boomers Grew Up In A Fortunate Moment But Were Now In A Darker Time

David Gilmour on his new album title: "WEB"

"It's a dark time, but we have to find the light"

David Gilmour has explained the meaning behind the title of his new solo album, WEB. The album, which is set for release on 18 October, is Gilmour's first solo album since 2015's Rattle That Lock.

Speaking to The Times, Gilmour said that the title WEB represents the "interconnectivity" of the world today. "We're all connected, whether we like it or not," he said. "The internet, social media, everything. It's a web that we're all caught in."

Gilmour also said that the album title reflects the "dark times" that the world is facing today. "There's a lot of darkness in the world right now," he said. "But we have to find the light. We have to find the hope."

WEB is Gilmour's fourth solo album. His previous solo albums include David Gilmour (1978), About Face (1984), and On an Island (2006).
